Notes:
After first week of january i got another chance to visit Ambazari Lake on 16th January. We entered from seed centre. I was accompanied by Pratik Zoting & Akash Kothe. As we started walking along the lake shore we came across many kites and threads lying here and there. It appeared as if someone has woven a web of nylon threads. We removed some threads from trees and some from water which were deep inside the water with the kites. Akash Kothe got his shot of lifetime when he clicked the pic of common kingfisher tossing its prey (FISH). once we reached at the back side of Ambazari we witnessed something that i had only heard of till now. it were the Traps. we saw two traps. Luckily they were broken and no bird or animal was trapped in it. It was the day of grey francolins where surpisingly we saw 18 grey francolins running here and there as if they had participated in a marathon race. The guest attraction was lovely chestnut bellied sandgrouse couple which were so camouflaged that we couldn't spot them until they flew right past us. Ambazari being prime location and with new sighting almost every week we should do something to prevent it from activities like hunting and polluting the lake. I always love to go to this lake as it has provided me with many surprises over the years. I hope it survives despite of all the unethica/illegal activities taking place at the lake. cant we do anything to stop this?
